The answer to the question “WHO has had an influence on my work?”, is very simple — it was Frantisek Vizner.

For the first time I met him in 1971 in the glass factory in Škrdlovice, where I learned from him and followed his approach on work with glass. Together we stayed after the working hours for a long time in the cold-working studio and I could have been there when the unrepeatable blue bowl with top was created. From him I learned to understand the basic principles of glass matter and how to grind and polish glass; under his supervision I’ve created my first cut and polished glass objects – for example a smoked cone with an internal structure, which was awarded by the Bavarian State Prize and received a Gold Medal in Munich. It was Frantisek Vizner again who introduced my works to the galleries in the USA and who accompanied me during my first trip to the USA. I am grateful for the years and time I’ve spent with him. Thank you, Frantisek.
